CLUB WRAPS UP 2011 SEASON
The Mandan Horse and Saddle Club
recently completed its 2011 season
which included hosting four family
rodeos, double-header N.D. high
school rodeos, a N.D. junior high
school rodeo, and sublease of the
Dacotah Centennial Park arena for
three Bismarck Horse Club shows and
two National Barrel Horse Association
N.D. District 3 barrel racings.
An annual Wild West Rodeo on Sept .
17 marked the club’s season finale.
Approximately 170 contestants
participated.
All-around winners of trophy saddles
were Teddi Schwagler, Mandan, senior
division; Colton Backhaus, Bismarck,
junior division; and Cassidy Davidson,
Mandan, beginner division.
Event champions are as follows:

buckles. Horse blankets, picture
frames and bell boots were awarded to
second and third place contestants.
The top three pairs in the open team
roping split a cash jackpot totaling
$720.
Sponsors were the Mandan Progress
Organization community grant program
and Nodak Mutual Insurance – Karen
Berger Agency. Buckle sponsors were
Plato’s Closet, Western Unlimited and
the Cordell and Dorinda Wiest Family,
all of Bismarck. Brian and Betty Jo
Hartman donated beginner
participation prizes.
